The difficult shape of the plot, along with the planning requirement of having to fill the street front with the building dictated the basis for the design of the Koskela Building. This led to an exceptional and interesting room plan.

The spatial concept for the three storey building is flowing space. Long vistas open out from the house in every direction.

One of the aims of the design was spaciousness. Toward this end, the house doesn't have any suspended ceiling to hide ducts, wires and pipes, they have only been covered with minimal structures.
